About the role

Full-time 9-month contract opportunity (possible extension) located in Brisbane CBD.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to co-ordinate the requirements from multiple business functions, collaborate across a broad range of stakeholders and create appropriate data mapping and modelling that drive meaningful insights and innovation for the organisation. Through the FEED and Execution phases, this role will need to visualise and design data systems appropriately to manage and support the enterprise data management framework.

Key activities include:

  • Defining and developing the data architecture framework, standards and principles including modeling and metadata management involving document numbering, engineering tag number, procurement stock codes, project controls control accounts, construction and commissioning work packages
  • Collaborating and coordinating with departments such as project controls, engineering, construction and project management to create and improve reporting and data systems
  • Assist in the organisations digital transformation initiatives and support the Building Information Model (BIM) from design, execution to managing information for a built asset, including standard information exchanges of the various project design models and datastores
  • Work closely with digital delivery lead and the awarded EPCM contractor and consultants to develop and manage the various consultants model inputs that shall merge seamlessly to the project’s digital delivery model

About you

  • Proven communication, collaboration and coordination experience in working across a broad and diverse range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in data modelling and data governance in developing and managing related digital tools for clients and contractors
  • Proven experience in developing and managing reports and complex project data systems that meets the owner/client expectations
  • Significant relevant industry experience working on mega projects within a client, EPC, and/or EPCM environments and demonstrated hands on experience as data / information architect
  • Strong understanding of IT project management methodologies
  • Tertiary qualification in computer science, engineering or related discipline, highly desirable
