About the role

Full time opportunity working a four-day work week located at Stanwell Power Station in Rockhampton.

Stanwell’s Future Energy Innovation and Training Hub (FEITH) will provide facilities to test and develop new technologies that may then be scaled and commercialised. Stanwell will partner with various new technology developers and oversee the delivery of these projects into the FEITH facility.

Supporting the FEITH Superintendent, the Project Engineer will provide project management and engineering oversight of the FEITH facility infrastructure and its projects. This will involve close collaboration with the technology developer, future energy origination team, future energy hydrogen team and coordinate the integration of the projects into FEITH and Stanwell Power Station.

Key activities include:

  • Support the development and implementation of processes and systems to monitor and manage the projects detailed engineering activities
  • Developing effective relationships collaborating across the corporation, influencing engineering decisions and standards by technical credibility and knowledge without direct line control
  • Monitor and manage the projects technical implementation activities to ensure that the facility is constructed in accordance with the contract and technical specifications
  • Effectively manage project design and construction engineering risks and ensure a high level of safety and environmental performance
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the project team throughout the life of the project to ensure that technical and commercial alignment and project objectives remain on target

About you

  • Proven experience working on end-to-end project lifecycles particularly on the detailed design phase
  • Strong communicator and collaborator to take stakeholders and technology partners on the journey
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing new processes
  • Experienced in reprioritising goals with a continuous shift of focus and communication
  • Tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline or equivalent, preferably civil or mechanical
  • Desirable: Worked across multi-disciplines with a mix of projects and operations background
